One final cool thing that we did while in Turkey was to visit an authentic Turkish carpet weaving group. They use a “double knot” style carpet weaving technique, as opposed to the slightly more well-known “Persian” carpets. This (according to the Turkish weavers) leads to a more sturdy, long-lasting carpet – and their work is absolutely gorgeous!
